Embrace the suck. Discomfort is where growth happens.

Hey Fam,
Nobody likes being uncomfortable. That's kind of the point.
The moment something gets hard — your lungs are burning, the weight feels heavy, the alarm goes off for an early session — every part of you wants to back off.
To make it easier. To do it tomorrow.
But here's what we know after years of coaching: that uncomfortable moment? That's exactly where the growth is.
Embrace the suck.
This doesn't mean signing up for an Ironman tomorrow if you haven't trained in months. That's not embracing the suck — that's just chaos. 😅
It means something simpler. Challenge yourself to be just a little better than you have to be. Every day.
One more rep when you wanted to stop.
Showing up on the day you really didn't feel like it.
Doing your homework for the bad knee you have (guilty 👋).
Choosing the slightly heavier weight when the lighter one would have been fine.
Small discomforts. Repeated consistently. That's where real progress lives.
A personal note.
Every day I write down one thing I did 1% better than I had to. Not 100% better. Just 1%.
It could be training-related. It could be a conversation I handled better. Sleep I prioritised. A meal I prepped instead of skipping. It doesn't matter what it is — what matters is the habit of looking for it.
Try it for a week.
You'll be surprised by what you notice.
Growth doesn't happen in the comfort zone.
But you don't have to blow your comfort zone up overnight either. Just nudge it. A little. Every day.
That's enough. 💛
